Born from the remains of two dead bands, Home Base was started in December 2017 by Jake Watts and Magnolia Project co-founder Luke Petersen.

Inspired by the dwindling San Diego DIY scene, they write with the aim of bringing catchy, melancholic, and melodic tunes to the So-Cal underground soundscape.
